Jessica Welsh is an Emmy-nominated UK-raised, LA/NYC-based writer for film, TV and stage.

On the screen…she has written projects for Apple TV+, Netflix, Disney, Warner Bros, Sony, Nickelodeon, DreamWorks and more, including 80+ episodes of TV. She was a staff writer on the Peabody-winning/Emmy-nominated series STILLWATER for Apple TV+ and has written episodes for the Emmy-nominated INTERRUPTING CHICKEN (Apple TV+), along with the hit series GABBY’S DOLLHOUSE (Netflix) and BABY SHARK (Nickelodeon). Her feature screenplay SHANIA! was selected for the 2021 Black List.

On the stage…her original folk/rock musical WILD MAN OF THE WYNOOCHEE (book, co-lyrics) premiered at Key City Public Theatre in 2024. It received the 2025 Sound on Stage Award for Best Original Music Composition and embarks on a regional tour in 2027. Her new musical MUSIC & MURDER BY… (book and lyrics), premiered at Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2026, receiving a Fringe Theatre Award.

Jessica graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Princeton with a degree in English. She is a member of the WGA, TAG, Dramatists Guild, ASCAP and BMI Musical Theatre Workshop.
