Jessica Welsh is a UK-raised, NYC/LA-based writer for film, TV and stage.

On the screen…she has written projects for Apple TV+, Netflix, Disney, Warner Bros, Sony, Nickelodeon, DreamWorks and more, including 30+ episodes of TV. She was a staff writer on the Peabody-winning/Emmy-nominated series STILLWATER for Apple TV+ and has written episodes for the Emmy-nominated INTERRUPTING CHICKEN (Apple TV+), along with the hit series GABBY’S DOLLHOUSE (Netflix) and BABY SHARK (Nickelodeon). Her feature screenplay SHANIA! was selected for the 2021 Black List.

On the stage…her original folk/rock musical WILD MAN OF THE WYNOOCHEE (music by Linda Dowdell, lyrics by Jessica and Linda) premiered at Key City Public Theatre in 2024. It received the 2025 Sound on Stage Award for Best Original Music Composition and Sound Design (additionally nominated for Best Original Production, Director, Lead Actor) and embarks on a regional tour in 2027. Her work has been presented on stages in NYC, LA and Seattle.

Jessica graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Princeton with a degree in English. She is a member of the WGA, TAG, Dramatists Guild and BMI Musical Theatre Workshop.
